Dear prospective parents and guardians,
We are happy to announce the lottery for enrollment for the 2018-2019 school year is taking place next week, Thursday, February 22, 2018, at 4:30 pm in our auditorium. Please join us to see if your child was given a seat at our school next year. Once the lottery results have been posted you will be able to pick up a registration packet before you leave if you are present. You do not need to be present for your child to be selected. We will contact you personally and let you know if your child was seated or placed on the waiting list. Please keep in mind you will only have 10 days to return the registration packet along with all required documents. If you do not submit the packet within the timeframe allotted your child’s spot will be given to the next child in line.

Nos complace anunciar que la lotería para la inscripción del año escolar 2018-2019 se llevara a cabo la próxima semana, jueves 22 de febrero de 2018 a las 4:30 p.m. en nuestro auditorio. Únase a nosotros para ver si su hijo(a) recibió un asiento en nuestra escuela el próximo año. Una vez que se hayan publicado los resultados de la lotería, podrá recoger un paquete de inscripción. No necesita estar presente para que su hijo(a) sea seleccionado. Nos comunicaremos con usted personalmente y le informaremos si su hijo(a) fue seleccionado o está en la lista de espera. Si está presente, puede recoger su paquete de inscripción antes de irse el próximo jueves. Tenga en cuenta que solo tendrá 10 días para devolver el paquete junto con todos los documentos requeridos. Si no regresa el paquete dentro del plazo, se le dará el lugar de su hijo(a) al siguiente niño en la fila.

This edition of the newsletter includes articles about Helping Your Child through the Mid-Year Slump, Boosting Your Child’s Self-Esteem, Maintaining Children’s Health, and FAFSA.
HSA Fishing Trip. The trip was a great success! Mr. Beltran, Lucero, Aguirre, and Contreras attended. Mrs. Ochoa was in attendance as well. A total of six fish were caught with five being carp and one bass.The Ascarate Fishing Club had poles and prepared the bait for us. We had hamburgers hot dogs and chips for lunch before students were picked up by family. The trip was a great success!

HPS Child Find Policy
It is the policy of the Harmony Public Schools to ensure that
- All children with disabilities enrolled in the charter school regardless of the severity of their disability, and who are in need of special education and related services, are identified, located, and evaluated; and
- A practical method is developed and implemented to determine which children are currently receiving needed special education and related services.
These requirements apply to:
- Homeless children;
- Children who are wards of the state;
- Highly mobile children (including migrant children); and
- Children who are suspected of being in need of special education but who are advancing from grade to grade.
