Dear HSA Class of 2021 Students and Parents,
We will be having our Senior Picture Day on Saturday, February 27th from 9:00 am to 12:15 pm. Attached you will find the information for the packages that will be available to purchase from Hot Shots Studio.
Your participation for this event is mandatory even if you are not purchasing a package. We will use these pictures for official school use, including the senior yearbook. For those students who will be purchasing a package, please show up ready with your payment. Cash, credit card and money orders are all acceptable forms of payment. I would advise that you bring exact amounts if you are paying in cash.
Here are the instructions for Senior Picture Day. Please read them carefully.
1-Students should dress in black, formal attire. The idea is to have your portrait taken with a formal black top. If you have any doubts on your choice of wardrobe please refer to the school dress code.
2-Please make your way to the HSA porch auditorium following the route on the attached map. Students will approach in their vehicle one by one according to the schedule. Parents or the driver are to remain in their vehicles. After the photo, the graduate and their parents/driver must leave the event. See attached map.
3- If you would like to take a picture with a cap and gown please bring your own. We will avoid any exchange of clothes in order to follow the safety guidelines.
4- We will follow all of the CDC guidelines throughout the day. Everyone must wear face masks at all times and may only remove masks for the prearranged photo.
5-Please make sure to arrive on time for your picture. We are under severe time constraints, please do not miss your assigned time slot.
Below you will find the student list and the map. Let us know if you have any questions.
Dear Parents,
It is our pleasure to welcome some students to campus. We are currently working to make this experience another success. As always, our goal is to provide a safe environment to our students and we are taking the necessary measures for this purpose.
While Distance Learning continues, most teacher will be conducting their Zoom Sessions from campus rather than home, our Learning Centers will disappear allowing In Person Instruction to take place.
In you have completed in Skyward the Re-Selection form prior to January 28th, 2021 and opted for In Person Instruction, you will receive a confirmation email letting you know that your student has been accepted to attend In Person Instruction. If you did not complete the Re-Selection form in Skyward, you may still do it but the approval process will take at least 15 days from the time of your request.
Take the time to print that confirmation in order to accelerate the verification process during the week. Be aware that students still need to enter the Zoom sessions for all their classes and that the Distance Learning Program continues besides the In Person Instruction.
Finally, read and understand the following guidelines provided by the Harmony Public Schools. Your support is very important in the implementation of these guidelines.
Teachers and other staff members of Harmony Public Schools will receive a major upgrade to their employer-paid benefits package after the Harmony Public Schools Executive Board unanimously approved a sweeping new benefits expansion.
The package will go into effect later this spring with the start of Harmony’s annual benefits enrollment period, and includes new employer-paid benefits related to health care, retirement, and life insurance.
“The past year, the world has seen the true value of our teachers and team members in a way they never have before,” Harmony Public Schools CEO Fatih Ay said. “These professionals who take such good care of our students deserve to know that they are being taken care of, as well – both their immediate needs and their long-term needs. So we are excited to be able to offer them an additional set of benefits that saves them money on their health care costs each month, while also helping them prepare for their retirement down the road.”
The new benefits include:
MATCHING RETIREMENT CONTRIBUTIONS: Exempt employees can receive 100% matching contribution to employee 403(b) and/or 457(b) plan, up to $1,500 annually depending on tenure of service. This is in addition to employee’s TRS Retirement System Benefits.
- Previously: No employer matching contribution.
FREE VISION: Free vision care for employees.
- Previously: Employee-paid supplemental benefit.
FREE DENTAL: Free dental care for employees.
- Previously: Employee-paid supplemental benefit.
INCREASED FREE LIFE INSURANCE POLICY: Free $100,000 life insurance policy for all Exempt employees.
- Previously: Free $20,000 life insurance policy.
The package amounts to a roughly $2.4 million estimated increase in annual expenditure on employer-paid benefits for the Texas-based school system. However, Harmony Public Schools CEO Fatih Ay said the investment was worth it because of the positive impact on employee quality of life, work-life balance, and workplace satisfaction.
“The investments with the best returns are always the investment made in people,” Ay said. “We’ll continue to make these kinds of investments on behalf of our employees as often as we can.”
The expansion was the fourth major announcement related to employee benefits made by Harmony in the past year. The school system also announced two employee bonuses last year, as well as a promise to continue independently offering the now-expired federal COVID-19 leave benefits for impacted employees.
